Surah Al-Masad ( The Palm Fibre ) - Aya count 5

تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ ( 1 )

I undergangen med Abu Lahabs verk, i undergangen med ham!

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ ( 2 )

Hans rikdom og det han har tjent, hjelper ham ikke.

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ ( 3 )

Han skal havne i flammende ild,

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ ( 4 )

mens hans hustru, som bærer brennefang,

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ ( 5 )

har en snor av palmefibre rundt halsen!
